DMPS v1.0 - Designing Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Solutions

Duration:

Description

DMPS is a three-day instructor-led technical course that reviews and enforces the system architecture of MeetingPlace v7.0 and how those components integrate into an enterprise network. Use of the MeetingPlace Configuration Tool and other tools in case studies and design scenarios will be emphasized to create solutions that meet common customer MeetingPlace deployment requirements.

Objectives

To provide learners with skills to successfully design Cisco's rich-media conferencing solution appropriate for integration into a customer enterprise network.

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  • Assess Cisco Unified MeetingPlace features, capacities, and requirements as they relate to planning a comprehensive customer Cisco Unified MeetingPlace deployment
  • Identify and evaluate customer application, IP telephony infrastructure, and user and conferencing requirements that need to be considered when planning a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace deployment
  • Design a highly available, comprehensive Cisco Unified MeetingPlace deployment plan, given specific customer environments and requirements

Prerequisites

  • Working knowledge of designing converged voice and data networks
  • Working knowledge of designing SIP, Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP), and H.323 protocols and their implementation on Cisco IOS gateways
  • Working knowledge of designing video basics (suggested training Implementing Cisco Rich Media Communication (ICRMC)
  • Ability to include call control systems in network design (suggested training Cisco IP Telephony 1 or Cisco UCAD)

Who Should Attend

The primary audience for this course is as follows:
    • An individual who is a Cisco network consulting engineer, new unified communications partner, or customer network designer
The secondary audience for this course is as follows:
    • An individual who is a channel field engineer or a customer network engineer
